 2024 PRIDE DAY: Friday August 23

Continuing for 2024!

We are accepting individual, business, organization and congregation donations and sponsorship for the Booth. The sponsorship form is at the bottom of this page. Please make checks payable to FAIRNY, and mail to FAIRNY, PO Box 151, Dewitt, NY 13214. Sponsorships are also available for the theme days we are celebrating.

The 2024 New York State Fair runs from Wednesday August 21 to Monday September 2.
The Theme Days for the 2024 State Fair are:
Friday, August 23  Pride Day
Sunday, August 25  Faith Day
Monday, August 26  Senior Day
Tuesday, August 27 Ally Day
Wednesday, August 28 Health Day 
Thursday, August 29  Family Day
Friday, August 30   Student Day
Saturday, August 31 Transgender Day

To support the LGBTQ Booth, please use the following form for sponsorship. The form can be printed or downloaded. 2023 PRIDE DAY: FRIDAY AUGUST 25
While every day is Pride Day at the Booth, we now celebrate an official Pride Day at the Fair on the first Friday of the Fair. Please stop by the Booth to visit us for special displays and handouts, and visit the Resource Fair in the Chevy Court Pavilion.

2023 FAITH DAYS Sunday August 27 and Sunday September 3 

In 2011 we celebrated our first Faith Day. Over the years we have distributed literature from PFLAG, the Human Rights Campaign and other organizations, with additional support from religious organizations from across New York. We now observe Faith Days on two days, the first Saturday and Sunday of the Fair.

2023 SENIOR DAY: Monday August 28

Seniors from across New York State visit the Booth for materials from local, state and national organizations on aging and the LGBT community.

2023 ALLY DAY: Tuesday August 29

Ally Day is made possible with the help of our allies, including local PFLAG chapters and other allies from across the state. 

We have literature from PFLAG, and from PFLAG's Straight for Equality Project, the Guide to being a straight all
y for visitors.

 2023 HEALTH DAY: Wednesday August 30

Health Day helps create awareness of resources available to address the health needs of LGBT New Yorkers, as well as available insurance options.

 2023 FAMILY DAY: Thursday August 31

 2023 STUDENT DAY: FRIDAY September 1

Student Day provides resources for LGBTQ youth and their families, with resources on bullying, how to start a GSA, and information for educators and families to support LGBTQ Youth.

2023 TRANS/GNC/NB DAY: FRIDAY September 1


We celebrate Trans/Gender Non Conforming/Non Binary Day, with information from state and local organizations, information on GENDA, how to be a trans ally, trans/GNC/NB youth and much more.

2017 PRIDE DAY: Friday August 25

While every day is Pride Day at the booth, we celebrate Pride Day on the opening Friday of the Fair, the unofficial "gay day" at the Fair. Our booth is always visible with our Celebrate Diversity sign above the booth, and we added festive pride banners around the booth to make it more visible.

2017 ALLY DAY: Tuesday August 29 

Ally Day is made possible with the help of our allies, including the the Central New York Chapter of the New York Civil Liberties Union, local PFLAG chapters and other allies from across the state. 

   

We have literature from PFLAG, and from PFLAG's new Straight for Equality Project, the Guide to being a straight ally.

 

   

                                                

 

  

 

We also have an updated handout, "Becoming an Ally: Things you can do to be supportive, confront homophobia and resist heterosexism."
